Almost every time someone mentions visiting Sicily, Taormina is the place they visit. The reason? Because it is simply stunning!

On our visit, we saw Taormina by funicular, foot and by car. We hope you enjoy some pictures of our time in this magnificent city!  Here we are in Piazza IX Aprile, at the heart of Taormina.    Walking around, exploring the streets of Taormina.  After strolling around Taormina,we decided to continue up the hill to Castelmola. The picture below shows the view of Isola Bella. Should you ever be in Sicily in the summer months, this is a popular beach spot for tourists!  Castelmola has been rated the most picturesque towns in Europe. At an elevation of 3320 meters, Castelmola offers views of the Ionian coast, Mount Etna, the Bay of Giardini-Naxos, the Cape of S.Alessio, the strait of Messina and the Calabrian coast.  If you ever find yourself in Castelmola, we recommend you. stop by Bar Turisi for a granita and a taste of almond wine.  We hope you enjoyed our pictures.
