Welcome to Norway!

We escaped winter in New York to find out what winter in Norway was like!

Beautiful view from the plane.  We flew with Norwegian Airlines.

Watch the video here.

We spent this past week in Norway’s south western coast.  Our experiences were magical and the landscape was breathtaking.  Bergen is listed as the rainiest city in Europe.  Fortunately, we only saw rain for a few hours on our last day there.  BUT, don’t be fooled, temperatures were in the high 20s and 30s Fahrenheit…BRRR

Our flight landed in Bergen late morning, so we had pretty much the whole afternoon & evening to rest and explore the city.  We rented a car at the airport.  Thank you Hertz for the cool BMW, we loved zipping around fjord land in it.

Before leaving NY, we heard that Norway was pretty expensive, so we decided to cook meals at home.   Our first stop was the grocery store.  We got all we needed & some delicious grain bread and headed to our Airbnb.fullsizeoutput_12fullsizeoutput_5dfullsizeoutput_5eDSC_0445fullsizeoutput_16fullsizeoutput_20After some much needed rest be drove to the downtown area, about 15 minutes away.  We parked the car and walked around Bergen,  saw a beautiful sunset, drank Cantillon beer at Pingvinen, ate dinner at Olivia Restaurant, then called it a night.fullsizeoutput_61
